Celebrating Men's Health Month: Essential Screening that can save your life

June is Men's Health Month, Spread the word!

If your Dad, Brother, Husband, friend, Partner or Significant other hasn't had an annual skin cancer check this year, make sure he schedules for one!

According to the CDC, men are more likely to get more sun exposure over their lifetime than women, as they tend to spend more time outdoors, are more likely to work outdoors, and don't use as many skincare products as women. The Skin Cancer Foundation reports that among people ages 15-39, men are 55% more likely to die of melanoma than women.

Here are a few ways Integrated Dermatology can help you or the man in your life to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  1. Schedule a skin cancer check. Make an appointment with us to get screened for melanoma.
  2. Use Sunscreen. Protect your skin from the suns harmful rays and use a mineral broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays. We recommend SkinMedica or EltaMD. SkinMedica just released a new regiMEN skin care system that is available on our online store.  Don't forget to apply sunscreen to the back of the neck, ears, and hands!
  3. Adopt a routine. Vibrant, healthy skin isn't just for women! We offer products and services designed to address men's skincare needs at any age; i.e. PRP Hair Restoration for hair loss and Botox for a subtle rested look.
