Biography

Dr. Farhaad Riyaz is a board-certified dermatologist, fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and fellowship-trained cosmetic dermatologic surgeon. A biomedical engineer by undergraduate training, he attended the Medical College of Virginia where he stood first place in his class and served as president of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His passion for dermatology stemmed from his interest in using medical devices and technology to deliver superior patient care. He completed his dermatology training at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan where he served as one of two chief residents and was elected Chair of the House Staff Council representing almost one-thousand physicians.

Invested in entrepreneurship, he completed a year-long fellowship in medical innovation at the Henry Ford Innovation Institute during his residency. He subsequently completed an ASDS-approved Cosmetic and ACGME-approved Mohs Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital under Dr. Murad Alam while furthering his interest in healthcare technology and finance as an MBA student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is currently appointed to committees for the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American College for Mohs Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

In addition to advanced skin cancer treatment and reconstruction, Dr. Riyaz performs cosmetic procedures including Botox, fillers, skin rejuvenation, body contouring and laser surgery.
